Project: Right Way Forward To Social And Economic Justice
Region: Kajiado and Narok Counties
Project Description
Project will seek to address root causes that hinder women from economic empowerment which stems from the cultural and social norms within the Maasai community; that are catalyzed by the fact that up to 60% of women are not aware of their rights. This is as a result of life in prolonged poverty often faced by the women in the society. In the previous Forum Civ Project men were asked why they do not involve women in key decision making within the household and ultimately at community level where they indicated. “Women are like children” they do not contribute financially and fully depend on men for everything”. Training on women rights (land rights, succession, education) and advocacy skills will be done by HiH EA Field staff (BROs)
