The 27 bee farmers from Mogotio are part of the over 800 bee farmers who have been mobilized and trained on modern beekeeping techniques by Hand in Hans Eastern Africa and Africa Beekeeping Limited(ABL)

For decades now, rabbit farming has been considered a trade for lads, especially in the Mt. Kenya region with cows, chickens, goats, and sheep traditionally been the primary livestock agribusiness. Social attitudes initially hindered the widespread adoption of the new type of livestock.
