Mixed migration flows from the East Africa region typically follow three main migratory routes: the ‘Northern Route’ towards North Africa and often onwards to Europe; the ‘Southern Route’ towards South Africa; and the ‘Eastern Route’ towards Yemen and other parts of the Gulf. MMC’s research finds that a complex mix of conflict, insecurity and economic factors are key drivers of mixed migration from East Africa, with a variety of profiles of people on the move.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row beigebox=”yes”][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_tta_tabs shape=”square” alignment=”center” active_section=”1″][vc_tta_section title=”Latest Publications” tab_id=”latest-publications”][three_res filter_region_only=”3″ filter_resource_type=”99,105,196,152″ filter_cat_only=”” filter_offset=”0″ more_text=”All East and Southern Africa resources” more_url=”https://staging.maisoninteractive.com/mixedmigrationcenter/resources/?keyword=&action=search&topic=&type=&region=3&sortby=date-desc&country=&publisher=”][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Latest Mixed Migration Updates” tab_id=”latest-mixed-migration-updates”][three_res filter_region_only=”3″ filter_resource_type=”192″ filter_cat_only=”” filter_offset=”0″][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Latest Articles” tab_id=”latest-articles”][three_articles size=”3″ width=”3″ filter_content=”region” filter_region=”3″ filter_offset=”0″][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_tabs][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” white_section=”yes”][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]

Our funding partners

MMC’s work in Eastern and Southern Africa is made possible through the generous support and close cooperation with various partners[/vc_column_text][partners_logos filter_res_region=”3″ order_donors=”ASC”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” robin_egg_blue_box=”yes”][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]

Contact us

east-southern-africa@mixedmigration.org[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

Join our mailing list!

Get regular updates on mixed migration in Eastern and Southern Africa[/vc_column_text][jeg_post_button horizontal=”yes” title=”Subscribe now” el_class=”subscribe-rounded-btn” url=”https://regionalmms.us9.list-manage.com/subscribe/post?u=74c780d08eea6cd5e543d10fe&id=e7bb6261e1″][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row top_header=”yes” no_bottom_margin=”yes”][vc_column width=”1/1″][main_slider size=”3″ filter_content=”region” filter_region=”3″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row white_box=”yes”][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text] About MMC’s work in Eastern and Southern Africa MMC engages in data collection, research, analysis and policy development on mixed migration in Eastern and Southern Africa.
