While the number of people arriving by sea in Greece decreased to some 4,100 in October, Turkish authorities reported increases in the numbers of people trying to both enter (61,000) and exit (3,900) Turkey irregularly. The majority of those trying to exit Turkey by land were recorded at the border with Greece.
