Information is fundamental for refugees and migrants to evaluate their options before and during their migration journey, choose a destination, estimate costs and determine the safest and most accessible mean of transport and route. How do they gather information before and during the journey? What kind of information do they have access to and what are the gaps? Which sources of information are the most used and which are the most trusted? The analysis is based on 1,868 surveys conducted in Colombia and Peru between February and July 2021, partially by face-to face interview and partially by phone.

La información es fundamental para que los refugiados y migrantes evalúen sus opciones antes y durante su viaje migratorio, elijan un destino, estimen los costes y determinen el medio de transporte y la ruta más seguros y accesibles. ¿Cómo reúnen la información antes y durante el viaje? ¿A qué tipo de información tienen acceso y cuáles son las lagunas? ¿Qué fuentes de información son las más utilizadas y cuáles son las más fiables? El análisis se basa en 1.868 encuestas realizadas en Colombia y Perú entre febrero y julio de 2021, en parte mediante entrevistas presenciales y en parte por teléfono.
